Increase tax deductions for R&D (inc. scholarships, etc) to 150% to encourage more private funding. 42  out of 47 found this valuable. Do you?

Yes indeed! And kick-start some useful R&D funding for startups, as well. All the R&D assistance was severely eroded by the previous government - let's have some restoration, please! 6  out of 8 found this valuable. Do you?

I don't really like government spending money directly on R&D - because it gets spent on all sorts of uselessness... but the tax incentive idea is much better. I believe they get 125% already don't they? Or am I living in the past? 3  out of 8 found this valuable. Do you?

Good idea, but it has to be watched ... while this kind of deduction was great for the Film Industry in the 80s and 90s, it did produce a lot of crap.

No way!
It distorts the market, diverting scarce investment funds from some other more productive sectors.

As long as government stops funding this stuff directly - then this is the lesser of two evils. If you're suggesting it as an additional - then no dice. 3  out of 4 found this valuable. Do you?
