Campaign Finance Reform
Feb 14 2008, 7:14 AM EST
I think we should limit campaign contributions to $2000 to the parties (state and/or federal), outlaw contributions from corporations and unions, and require candidates to record and post publically all contributions (and spending) over $50.

Absolutely! How else will we prevent those with the most money and influence from getting their own way? Do you find this valuable? |

For the major parties that get roughly $2 in taxpayers money for every primary vote this might not have much impact. However for micro parties that must pay $500 per candidate simply to be on the ballot paper and who generally get $0 from the taxpayer this would be crippling. However if you like the two party dominance of the existing system then by all means nobble the little guys.

I'd rather not have a limit - but force all donations to be open.
