As a single full-time working mother of two I find your comments offensive & close-minded. Unfortunately the cost of living alone makes it extremely difficult for anyone to stay home full-time to care for their chid(ren). Its a catch-22. If I were to give up work and go on CentreLink payments & apply for public housing I would be persecuted also. It seems you're damned if you do and damned if you don't! Sometimes cicurmstances are NOT a choice. We make do with the choices and ciurcumstances presented to us. Open your minds & your hearts. Don't be so judgemental. In my view the advantages of childcare far outway the disadvantages. In saying that as a parent, I think most would agree ideally most parents would like to be home the majority of the time with their children given the choice (particularly financially).
